Project Plan

Improvements are continually being made to LeagueChief. This contains a list of features that are on the radar of potential enhancements. No promises here, just a place where ideas can be shared.

  1. Offer more Percentage options than just the 1st one
    [Currently, there is only one "bring down factor" field (i.e. 75%) so that if they don't have any scores and play the 1st time, they get 75% of the handicap. It would be nice to be able to setup a number of these factors (i.e. 5 of them) so perhaps the number is increased with each time they play. (i.e. 75, 80, 90, 100)]
  2. Ability to show weekly standings sorted by Team and Player points. (ext.ID: TL)
  3. BTWB's Specific: Dropdown for Historical data
  4. Cards - when the player or Sub doesn't have a handicap,change it so the opponent doesn't get the pops on the card
    [Currently, it only shows like this before the calculate.]
  5. League Rules on their own tab on League
  6. Player/Sub Inquiry Data
    [Possibly some inquiries on Player, Sub, Team for visual history of how the player did. Similar to the Website where Player Details show.]
  7. Publish - if it fails, it would be nice to show the user there was a problem.
  8. Restore Backup still causes screen painting issues while it is processing
  9. Waiting List to include a Communications screen on it.
  10. Would be nice to show a splash screen while LeagueChief is loading
    [There is a long delay and I think it's confusing to a new User. The long delay is usually only the first time LeagueChief is run after an upgrade.]
  11. Event Module
    [This will allow you to track participants in an event (i.e. Scramble/BestBall, fun night, whatever). Very useful when determining who’s in and who’s out. Also will be very useful for preparing emails to a group. It would store confirmation info, comments, paid info, handicap, index, etc. An event will allow you to include Players and/or Subs in it. It will also allow you to run some reports to only include those players in a certain event. In the Communications module, you will be able to select all the players in an Event. This Event functionality will not be for score entry, it’s more for the organization of the participants, and it’s up to you to decide how you want to run it and track the winners.]
  12. Print to Cards that have have a back-fold style
    [Some golf course cards have a style where the back nine on the card will fold back over so you see the names, but not the front nine. This will prove to be a challenge since the user will have to run the cards through the printer twice. We'll have 2 separate templates that can be created, and assigned to a golf course and the particular nines to be printed.] (ext.ID: JA)
  13. Is there a way to show left Results links without clicking them.
    [The user can adjust the index.html to point to the .//results.html instead of the ./left.html. This works fine after the season starts and you want to show results as the default page, but it breaks down if you want to show any other page (i.e. in preseason, showing rules/information, or the players) instead.]
  14. Rework deployment and try to offer built-in-update checks
    [Currently, the deployment is built with a secondary tool. It would be nice to be able to use the deployment built into Visual Studio, and also offer the ability for in-application updates so the users are informed when there is an update.]
